8 Tools for Admins to Increase Salesforce Adoption

How to increase adoption is always a discussion throughout the evolution of your org. Creating a top-down policy will always be the most effective measure. The culture of, “If it’s not in Salesforce, it doesn’t exist” creates mandatory Salesforce use. However, though this is the most effective, doesn’t mean it makes it any easier to evolve the org and make it easier for the end user. For long term adoption, the org has to be user friendly and efficient for your users. Here are 8 admin tools to help increase adoption and build the best platform for your company.

Field Trip

Ever wish you could run reports on the fields you have in Salesforce? Take a Field Trip! This utility lets you analyze the fields of any object, including what percentage of the records (or a subset of your records) have that field populated.

Salesforce Adoption Dashboards

If you click above, you will see that Salesforce went ahead and created a predefined adoption dashboard that you can install from the AppExchange and measure user adoption through multiple reports. But really, as an admin you are able to do this by creating reports and making a dashboard that you can either subscribe to or place on your admin homepage. Measuring your users through custom metrics will help you see challenges that may be creating inefficiencies.

Salesforce Inbox

One of the most powerful components of Salesforce is it’s ability to connect all types of software. For Sales Cloud and Service Cloud users, one of the most important connections is email integration. Logging activities, application switching, scheduling meetings all take time. Efficiency is the key to success, and Salesforce Inbox provides the tools for your Sales reps or Customer Service Reps to focus on driving business and retaining customers. For users that are used to working out of their inbox, this an easy way to help adoption by having them able to continue to work out of their inbox.

Cloud Flow Designer

Cloud Flow Designer is a point-and-click tool that lets you automate business processes by building flows. A flow automates a business process by collecting data and doing something in your Salesforce org or an external system. Flows can either require user interaction—perhaps a wizard or guided UI for data entry—or run in the background on their own—perhaps something that automatically transfers records when a user’s role changes. This helps keep organization and is a great tool for admins to help make the user’s business process “flow” smoothly.

Process Builder

Process Builder is an even more powerful tool for Admins. This is a workflow tool that will allow users easily automate business processes such as onboarding, updating records, creating records, creating new processes, as well as email and chatter alerts. Through a point and click interface, admins are able to direct workflows for efficiency.

Path

Path guides your users along the steps in a process, such as working an opportunity from a fresh lead to a successfully closed deal. Along the path, admins can add up to five fields for users to fill out at each step.

Chatter

Chatter is a collaboration platform that integrates all of Salesforce with the employees and empowers users to efficiency work and discuss records on Salesforce. For Admins, Chatter is an extremely powerful tool as it gives you the ability announce changes in the environment, create polls for user feedback, and offer training.

Trailhead

Trailhead is an amazing platform built by Salesforce to increase your skills and knowledge on the abilities of Salesforce. Collect Badges and move your way up the Trailhead Rankings. Get 100 badges, and you are a Salesforce Ranger! See how this could be a competition?
